This publication accompanied the exhibition Repeat Repeat and explores the work of seven artists: Ben Borthwick, Nicky Britton Field, Andee Collard, Joseph Cartwright, Peter Dreher, Susan Hiller and Simon Wells with William Swift Wells. Repeat Repeat investigated ideas of routine and repetition in artists’ practices. It explored how such daily disciplines create spaces for art-making in the face of, often, busy lives with competing roles and responsibilities. Each artist in the exhibition has embedded a routine of making into their daily schedules in response to their personal circumstances, professional commitments and domestic responsibilities. The publication includes texts written about each of the artists and their work, as well as an introduction by Henry Ward (Creative Director, Freelands Foundation) who also curated the exhibition.
