Exhibition

In March 2016, “A Dog in the Playground” opened at Peckham Platform Gallery in London. The exhibition featured work by students from the IOE/UCL PGCE Art & Design course, undertaken as part of their investigation into teaching as a socially engaged artistic practice. The exhibition was also the launch for the accompanying publication of the same name.

Publication

“A Dog in the Playground” was published in March 2016 and resulted from a collaborated project between Freelands Foundation and the Institute of Education/University College London. The book includes contributions from students who were undertaking the PGCE course, training to be secondary school teachers of art and design. It explores the notion of teaching as a socially engaged artistic practice and includes essays by Henry Ward, Head of Education at Freelands Foundation, and Lesley Burgess, Head of the PGCE course.
